So the static seems only to be with PS3 games. My FAT PS3 died due to the Yellow Light of Death so I can't test any PS2 games atm. Sound of the game could be captured and no such static. If your speakers are connected to your sound card through the front panel its possible that EMI from the GPUs VRMs are inducing noise on the front panel connector.
